Nudo: Frerichs, Bambenek working together

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign Republican Alan Nudo charged Friday that two other candidates — incumbent Democrat Mike Frerichs and Republican challenger John Bambenek — are working together to defeat him in the Republican Party primary.

He made the accusation after Frerichs last week released copies of two campaign donation checks that Nudo signed more than five years ago.

SPRINGFIELD — A McLean County farmer will oppose two-term U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock in the 18th Congressional District Republican Party primary on March 20.

Darrel Miller, 58, of Danvers on Tuesday filed nominating papers with the State Board of Elections to run in the new congressional district that includes most of McLean County and all or parts of 19 counties in western Illinois.
