Juco receiver not in UI plans
RANTOUL – Connie Moore's stay at the University of Illinois didn't last long.
Illinois football coach Ron Turner dismissed Moore from the team Sunday for "conduct detrimental to the team." Turner wouldn't give details of the off-field incident.
Shots don't find net for UI soccer team
CHAMPAIGN – The Illinois soccer team fired 34 shots at St. Charles on Sunday afternoon, but only one counted.
Freshman Lisa Baldwin scored the Illini's lone goal at the 78-minute mark, but the UI lost 2-1 at the First and Stadium Multiplex.

RANTOUL – Garrett Johnson didn't see the number on the helmet that ran into his left arm, but he's got a pretty good idea. It was either 62 (Tom Schau) or 67 (J.P. Machado).
During Tuesday's Illinois football practice, the wayward helmet gave Johnson and the Illini coaches a scare.
