SINGAPORE – Illinois volleyball commitment Liz McMahon suffered an elbow injury of undetermined severity Tuesday after helping the U.S. Girls' Youth Olympic Team advance to the finals of the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
The 6-foot-6 right-side hitter stumbled and fell on her right elbow while walking outdoors.

CHAMPAIGN – That fifth victory has proven to be elusive for Centennial's Chargers.
UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Illinois golfer Scott Langley advanced to Friday's quarterfinals at the U.S. Amateur after posting two victories Thursday.
Langley defeated Ryan McCarthy of Australia 6 and 4 in the round of 16.
URBANA — Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said a Robinson woman died as a result of injuries she received in a motorcycle crash in Effingham County.
Northrup said that Darlene Warfel, 54, of Robinson was pronounced dead at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana 6:50 p.m. Wednesday from a traumatic head injury she received in a crash on Illinois 33 earlier that day.
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Missouri tailback and team captain Derrick Washington was suspended indefinitely for unspecified disciplinary reasons.
"As I tell my players, when something happens like this I won't comment on it," coach Gary Pinkel said.
TUSCOLA — An additional 11 students stayed home from school on Thursday after they developed the symptoms of an illness that sent dozens of students home Wednesday from North Ward Elementary School, according to Tuscola Interim School Superintendent James Voyles.
