URBANA — The 30th annual art fair of the Craft League of Champaign-Urbana will take place Saturday and Sunday and feature the work of 33 artists.
Admission is free.
The exhibiting artists will show and sell new, original works in ceramics, jewelry, fiber, batik, photography, glass, woodworking, painting, printmaking, basketry, sculpture and mixed media.
More than 50 artists applied for the juried show. Exhibitors and attendees come from as far as 100 miles away.
"This art fair is a great opportunity to buy local and support the art community," artist Jill Bush said, speaking for the Craft League.
The hours for the show inside the Urbana Civic Center, 108 E. Water St., are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 to 4 Sunday.
The Craft League of Champaign-Urbana was founded in 1982 to promote awareness of fine arts in the area. The fair has been an annual event of the league for 30 years. In the first years, it took place in empty storefronts and church basements. It has been at the civic center since 1986.
