URBANA — The city of Urbana is seeking applicants for public arts intern. The pay would be $12 an hour, and the intern would work 10 hours a week for 15 weeks.
"This is a unique opportunity for students interested in the arts, arts administration and community development," reads a release from city public arts coordinator Christine McClelland. "The successful candidate will work under the public arts coordinator to assist with various tasks related to the Urbana Arts Grants program, as well as event planning, graphic design, marketing, promotion, Urbana Public Arts Commission monthly meetings, Artist of the Corridor exhibits, Art at the Market workshops and other areas as needed."
Applicants must be able to work well in a team environment and have above average multitasking skills, solid verbal/written communication skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Applicants also must possess a solid work ethic and commitment to meet deadlines and be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail. Applicants do not need to be current students.
Applications must be fully completed and received by 5 p.m. Nov. 30. A resume and cover letter must accompany a completed application; otherwise, the application will not be considered.
