Organization hosting benefit concert

URBANA — The Community Center for the Arts in Urbana will host its annual Faculty Benefit Concert at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Buvons Wine Bar, 203 N. Vine St.

There is no cover charge, but a freewill donation will be taken to support scholarships at the center and to support the work of building community through the arts. At the concert, center faculty members will perform music ranging from gypsy jazz to classical string repertoire, from traditional Americana to banjo duets. After the concert, the musicians will continue to play their favorite music into the evening.

Founded by musician Robin Kearton, the Community Center for the Arts works to build and strengthen community through the arts in Champaign-Urbana and the surrounding area.

Located in downtown Urbana, the center offers individual and group music lessons for children and adults, as well as classes in theater and circus arts for children. During the summer, the center offers a variety of arts camps for children ranging from age 6 through high school.
