MATTOON — Entries are due by Friday for the 34th annual Lake Land College Foundation Photography Show sponsored by the General Electric Mattoon Lamp Plant. Professional, amateur and student photographers may submit their work.
Student entries are open to youths in grades 7-12. The theme of this year's show is "The Wonder of Weather." Photographers entering the show will compete for prizes in five categories: any subject, film or digital; any subject, film or digital, in black and white; any photograph following "The Wonder of Weather" theme; digitally manipulated photographs; and student entries.
There will be cash prizes in each category and a best of show award of $150 in professional and amateur and $100, in student. Each photographer may enter two photos per category. Photographs entered may have been taken anytime but not previously entered in a Lake Land College Foundation Photography Show.
A $5 fee for each entry is charged to help defray the cost of insuring photographs while they are on display at the college. All entries will be displayed March 1-31. A reception for all exhibiting photographers and the general public is set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 7 in the Virgil H. Judge Learning Resource Center.
