CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign-Urbana Folk & Roots Festival will present a live music and comedy show at 7 p.m. Saturday at Techline Studio, 307 S. Locust St.
The performers will be humorists Lou and Peter Berryman and local singer-songwriter Margaret O'Brien. The suggested donation at the door is $10-$15.
The Berrymans are musical humorists who have entertained audiences nationwide for more than 35 years. They are frequently compared to Tom Lehrer, Flanders and Swann, and Gilbert and Sullivan — but are originals who blend Midwestern culture with intelligent observation in a whimsical accessible performance.
O'Brien, who lives in rural Monticello, performs original songs and accompanies herself on the mountain dulcimer. Among her influences are Mother Maybelle Carter, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, John Prine, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel and The Beatles.
