Two-day garage sale scheduled

URBANA — Eclectic, the artists' sales cooperative in downtown Urbana, will have another garage sale Friday and Saturday to raise money to help alleviate cash-flow problems.

"Because of the success of the last one, members feel it would be smarter to have another garage sale than try to organize a new fundraising event," Eclectic owner Susan Pryde said via email.

The next sale will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, with the theme Spring — Indoors and Out. The event will sell a lot of things but emphasize flower and garden items such as tools, lawn mowers, garden dcor, wind chimes, lawn furniture, flowerpots and vases.

Eclectic, formerly called Shared Space, will accept donations of garden-related and other items between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the co-op, 123 W. Main St., U.

The garage sale will be in a downstairs space at Eclectic, the courtyard and out front. Due to space constraints, Eclectic is unable to accept large appliances, televisions or other electronics and large pieces of furniture.

The first garage sale raised $1,500, which helped immensely, Pryde said, adding she needs to raise $2,000 more. Everything not sold Friday and early Saturday will be marked half price from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
