Drum workshop scheduled

URBANA — A free drum and dance workshop will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday (March 13) at the Channing-Murray Foundation, 1209 W. Oregon St.

The local group, Costas, will lead the evening of Afro‐Colombian drumming and dance workshops, followed by a live participatory performance. This event is made possible with support from a city of Urbana Arts Grant.

Afro-Colombian music was formed through interaction among indigenous, Spanish and African peoples brought to Colombia and retains many rhythmic similarities to the music of West Africa.

Andy Miller is leading this workshop.  I'm sure it will be fun but I don't think Bolokada Conde is involved.

I believe that Andy Miller is leading the workshop.  I do not think Bolokada Conde will be here for it.
