UI press exhibit opening this week

CHAMPAIGN — The University of Illinois Press will host the annual Book, Jacket and Journal Show from Monday through April 12.

Sponsored by the Association of American University Presses, nearly 100 books and jackets — the best of university press publishing — will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the UI Press, 1325 S. Oak St., C.

A special reception with light refreshments will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday. The show and reception are free and open to the public.

"We are proud to present the annual AAUP Book, Jacket, and Journal Show this year," UI Press art director Dustin Hubbart said in a news release. "It is an amazing collection of the best designs drawn from all university presses."

A high quality catalog shows each entry in full color with typographic, paper, printing and binding information, along with designers' and judges' comments.

A limited number of catalog copies will be available for free.
