Veterans' art work to be on display starting on Tuesday

DANVILLE — The "Veterans Experience 2013" art exhibit will be on display from Tuesday through April 27 at the Danville Art League, 320 N. Franklin St., Danville.

The public can view the exhibit from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Saturday and from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. The art league is closed on Sundays.

The art work has been created by veterans who receive services from the Department of Veterans Affairs Illiana Healthcare System in Danville and outpatient clinics in Decatur, Mattoon, Springfield, Peoria and West Lafayette, Ind.

This is the third year for this collaboration between the art league and the health care system's Recreation Therapy Service. It was established to encourage veterans to show their art to the community and particularly fellow veterans.
