Memorial concert set in Bellflower

BELLFLOWER — The Illinois Country Music Association will present the Rick Roy Memorial Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bellflower Community Building.

A meal will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The show will start at 7 and feature a mix of classic and new country performed with a live band. The cost of the meal is by donation. There will be concessions, a cake raffle and a 50/50 drawing.

Admission is $7 for adult members of the association and $9 for nonmembers, and $2 for children 12 and younger who are association members and $3 for children not members.

Roy, who died at age 54 in 2009, was a longtime musician who owned the McLean County Opry in Bellflower for more than a decade. He was the 2009 entertainer of the year for the Illinois Country Music Association, an organization he co-founded.
