'Justinpalooza' fundraiser set for Saturday

CHAMPAIGN —Nightjar Promotions and the Champaign/Urbana Singer Songwriter Collective will present the fundraiser music show "Justinpalooza" at 8 p.m. Saturday at Mike 'N' Molly's, 105 N. Market St.

The show also will feature the second annual MS Art Auction, featuring work from Ashley Freeland, Steven Cunningham, Mike Love and Ryan Michael Fraser. Fraser and Freeland will also draw live at the event. All proceeds from the art sales will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The music show will feature five musicians named Justin performing original music. They include the Chicago band Facing Winter, with Justin Birchard, as well as local favorites Midas the Crow, with Justin Larkin; Justin Rondon; A Cool Hand, with Justin Tanaka; and Justin Zelhart, formerly of Kessel.

The show will start at 8 p.m. Admission is $7, but people named Justin or Justine will get in free.

Nightjar, the Champaign-Urbana Folk & Roots Festival and the Singer-Songwriter Collective also will present Bob Dylan's 72nd Birthday Bash at 6 p.m. May 25, also at Mike 'N' Molly's.

In the tradition of last year's Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration, more than two dozen local singer-songwriters will cover Dylan, one of the most prolific and influential artists of all time. The show will be six hours long. Admission is $10.
