New date set for Race Street arts festival

URBANA — The Race Street Bash, which was to have taken place during the Memorial Day weekend but was postponed due to the weather, is set for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday outside the Community Center for the Arts, 103 N. Race St.

The event will celebrate the performing arts, with hands-on workshops, an Electric Try-It Tent, KidZone, arts and crafts, and more.

It also will feature live music, with guest artists the Duke of Uke and His Novelty Orchestra in addition to performances by the center's music faculty and student ensembles.

The all-ages event is free to the public. In the event of rain, the festival will move indoors to Corson's Music and the center studios.
