URBANA — Amara Yoga & Arts will have an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday for a three-person exhibition.
The show will feature mono prints by Joseph Gallo, paintings by Peyton Stewart and photographs by Celine Brousard.
The child-friendly opening will feature live music by Opus Dog with Celine Brousard and the Pedestrians. The exhibition will remain on view through mid-August and may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, during studio hours or by appointment.
Gallo has created one-of-a-kind pieces for more than 30 years; his current work explores the gicle printing process.
"I like pushing the boundaries of what a machine should and should not do as I am drawn to the unconventional," he said. "My 'Time Machine' series is a unique take on collaboration. I am riveted to the concept of taking 100-plus- year-old images and reworking them to breathe new life into old works. There's something about seeing images created more than a century ago, regenerated by virtue of modern machines and unconventional techniques."
Stewart was 40 North 88 West Student ACE Award winner in 2012 for her jewelry designs. She will show her new paintings.
Brousard also is a local artist, focusing on photography and music.
Amara Yoga & Arts is on the east side of Lincoln Square Village in Urbana.
