Tunes will fill the air again on Friday

CHAMPAIGN — Once again, downtown Champaign will be the backdrop for Friday Night LIVE, a free street-side performance series open to the general public.

Entertainers will be stationed at three locations starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

At Walnut and Chester streets:

— 6 p.m., guitarist Cliff Stoker, acoustic rock/easy listening.

— 7 p.m., guitarist John McMahon, acoustic rock/jazz/folk.

At Neil Street and Park Avenue:

— 6 p.m., guitarist-vocalist Paige McQuigg Stephens and pianist Chip Stephens, jazz, folk and beyond.

— 7 p.m., Kati & Jeremy Pessin, acoustic pop.

At One Main Plaza, Neil and Church streets:

— 6 p.m., George Turner Trio, jazz.

— 7 p.m., Samba Soul, classical Brazilian samba.

In its second year, Friday Night LIVE is sponsored by BankChampaign at M2, with support from 40 North 88 West, Champaign Center Partnership and the Illini Radio Group, as well as a grant from the city of Champaign.
