Trio touring with Paisley to perform in Tuscola

TUSCOLA — The Henningsens, a family trio from Atwood currently touring with Brad Paisley, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday in Ervin Park.

The Henningsens, who split their time between Nashville and their family farm in Atwood, have written hit songs for other Nashville artists and recently landed a recording contract with Arista Nashville. They will take a break from the Paisley tour to return to East Central Illinois for the free concert in Tuscola.

The Henningsens are Brian Henningsen, son Aaron and daughter Clara. The trio released a hit debut single, "American Beautiful," in December 2012; the song recently hit the top 15 on the Billboard charts.

The concert will take place during Tuscola's Independence Day celebration, Sparks in the Park. The event includes the "Madness in the Mud" mud volleyball tournament, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, an antique tractor show, a 5K run/walk, a parade and a car show.

The Henningsens' concert and a fireworks display will close the celebration. WIXY 100.3-FM will cover the event as well as give away tickets to a meet-and-greet barbecue with the band.
