Children, families invited to jam with Cherokee County Line

CHAMPAIGN — The Cherokee County Line band members are inviting children and families to jam with them from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Champaign School of Music, 1712 S. Duncan Road.

The event is part of the school's 2013 Fam Jam Outreach series.

Cherokee County Line, which performed at the 2013 Boneyard Arts and Blues, Brews and Barbecue festivals, will perform Top 40 country and Southern rock as well as some originals in an interactive jam session.

No musical experience is necessary to participate. To reserve tickets, call 359-0541 or go to http://www.champaignschoolofmusic.org and select Family Rock Jam.

Tickets are $5 — but free for Champaign School of Music families.

The Champaign School of Music was founded by director Holly Kennedy in 2003 to encourage students of all ages to discover, develop and enjoy their musical abilities through creative music making in a culturally diverse setting.
