Carnival to benefit resort for sick children

URBANA — A "Give Kids the World Benefit" Carnival will take place from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center, 1001 W. Killarney St., U.

The event will feature live music, food, inflatables, carnival games, and an Illini Sports Clinic hosted by Juice Williams. Adult entertainment and a beer tent will be available from 8 to 10 p.m.

Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Give Kids the World organization. The Give Kids the World Village is a resort in central Florida where children with life-threatening diseases and their families are treated to cost-free, weeklong stays.

There is no charge for admission to the carnival on Saturday; $1 tickets will be sold for the activities and food. Hosts of the benefit are the Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Michael Lane Media, Urbana Business Association, Neuhoff Media and Fluid Events.
