Rantoul theater group sets auditions for holiday show

RANTOUL — The Rantoul Theatre Group will have four open auditions for its holiday production of "The Christmas Toyshop" by Chicago playwright Michele L. Vacca.

The auditions will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Grissom Hall Theatre on the former Chanute Air Base.

Directors Amy Bock and Wanita Schneider seek up to 30 male and female actors — including some to portray Santa Claus — ages 6 through adults. Actors who can sing and dance as Christmas toys are a plus. No preparations are necessary for the auditions; readings will be from the script.

Additionally, a stage manager and light and sound technicians are needed.

The Rantoul Theatre Group's 190-seat theater is at 914 Arends Blvd. For more information, visit http://www.rtgonline.org, email the director at amy@rtgonline.org or call the theater answering machine at 892-1121.
