Amateur art show on display at Springer

CHAMPAIGN — The Illinois Town & Country Amateur Art Show has returned to town: at the Springer Cultural Center, 301 N. Randolph St.

The award-winning art is on display there through Sept. 28, and a public juror's critique will take place there at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 28.

The show highlights best-of-show and blue-ribbon winners from the county shows in the spring. The exhibit includes more than 100 works by amateur artists from throughout Illinois, including Champaign County.

The artists compete against each other in two divisions: youth and adult. Artists in both categories are awarded a best of show. The work covers a variety of media.

Viewing hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
