Beer tasting event Saturday in Urbana

URBANA — Crane Alley will host the International Beer Tasting & Food Truck Showcase downtown Saturday.

The first 500 people through the gates will receive a free commemorative sampling glass. Tickets for beer and food samples will be 75 cents each.

Tickets are $6 in advance and available at Crane Alley, The Blind Pig, The Canopy Club, Manolo's Pizza & Empanadas, Exile on Main Street, by phone at 800-514-ETIX or online at http://www.jaytv.com. Tickets will be $8 at the gate. Gates open at 3 p.m.

In its 12th year, Urbana's International Beer Tasting offers more than 150 types of imports and microbrews from around the country and the world. Such breweries as Founders, Green Flash, Yeastie Boys, Victory and Jolly Pumpkin will be represented at the event.

This year's addition to the event is the Food Truck Showcase. Patrons will be able to sample delicacies from some of the area's finest food trucks from barbecue to Mexican to cupcakes. Confirmed to participate in this year's event are Cracked Truck, Mas Amigos, Chester's BBQ, Sweetie Sweets, Two Blokes & A Bus from Bloomington and Healthy In A Hurry from Bloomington.
