Kanfer works displayed at Illini Union

URBANA — Photographer Larry Kanfer is showing his collection "Expanding Horizons: The Quad and Beyond" through Oct. 28 at the Illini Union Art Gallery.

After graduating from the University of Illinois in architecture, Kanfer opened his own gallery in Champaign. He is known as a photographer of Midwest landscapes and has been lauded by ARTnews, the Associated Press and The Washington Post.

His work has been shown in museums, galleries and additional collections nationwide.

"Expanding Horizons: The Quad and Beyond" will be on view during UI homecoming. It sheds new light on the traditional celebration, the campus and the community, according to a news release.

The gallery is in the northwest wing of the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., U. The show is free and open to the public.
