Family musical to be presented this weekend

CHAMPAIGN — Class Act will present the family musical "How to Eat Like a Child ... and Other Lessons in NOT Being a Grown-Up" on Saturday and Sunday at the SoDo Theatre, 114 S. Neil St.

The performances will be at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. each day. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door or in advance through http://www.classactinteractive.com.

The humorous songs and scenes in "How to Eat Like a Child" explore the world from the perspective of children. The many lessons include: "How to Beg for a Dog," "How to Understand Your Parents" and "How to Torture Your Sister."

The production is recommended for people 4 and up.

The cast is made up of 17 musical theater students selected through auditions. The students, ages 8-12, receive professional training with director Jaclyn Loewenstein and musical director Kat Downs.

An additional performance of "How to Eat Like a Child" will take place at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Monticello Theatre Association's Phoenix Theatre.
