Brass quintet sets holiday concert

URBANA — Sycamore Brass has set a holiday concert for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at 88 Broadway in Lincoln Square Village to raise funds for the Arts Advancement Fund through the Champaign Urbana Schools Foundation.

Band member Christopher Moors said the Champaign quintet has two trumpet players, two trombonists and a French horn player. The quintet will play a variety of classical and jazz and a little bit of pop, he said.

The event's goal is to raise $5,000 to benefit arts/music programs in Champaign and Urbana, with emphasis on students who might not have the experience otherwise.
