Murder mystery to be presented at St. Patrick's

URBANA — St. Patrick's Church in Urbana will present the murder mystery "Last Call at Chez Mort" by Lee Mueller this weekend.

Curtain times will be 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Patrick's Main Hall, 708 W. Main St., U. Tickets are $10 per adult, $5 a student or $25 per family and may be purchased at the door. To reserve tickets, call 367-2665.

The production benefits the youth group's summer mission trip to a Native American reservation in Nebraska and stars youth group members from Centennial and the St. Thomas More high schools, both in Champaign.

The synopsis: There's been a murder at the appropriately named 1940s nightclub Chez Mort. But whodunnit? Was it the fearsome but ill-fitted gangster, "Big Suit" Stu? The jealous siren, Lady Lelu? The master of ceremonies, Monsieur Truffaut? Or the streetwise stage manager, Mack? It's up to dim-witted Chief Inspector Edie Constantine to figure it out — with a little help from the audience.
