Danville Art League to host competition

DANVILLE — The Danville Art League will host the Sharon Schmitz Regional Open Art Competition, which runs with the Town and Country Amateur Art Show.

The shows will be March 4-28 at the Art League building, 320 Franklin St.

Deadline for entering the nonjuried show is Friday. Entry forms are available at danvilleartleague.com.

The actual art must be hand delivered to the Art League between 2 and 6 p.m. Feb. 28. Each artist may enter up to three works. Late entries will be accepted on a space-available basis only.

This show is open to any artist, professional or amateur, 18 years of age or older, within a 150-mile radius of Danville. Artists entering this show may not enter works in the Town and Country show.

The Regional Open Show offers cash awards. The judge will offer a critique for artists at 1:30 p.m. March 8. A reception for artists and their guests will follow.
