Good vibes

Vibraphone player extraordinaire Kevin Hart with pianist extraordinaire Donnie Heitler and friends perform from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at The Iron Post, 120 S. Race St., U. Hart, who lives in Normal and teaches at Parkland College and other colleges, performs four to six times a year in C-U. It's not often you get to hear the vibes played by someone so good!

Showing love for Indi-Go

After hearing DJ/musician Isaiah "Mr. Sensation" Johnson on WEFT, I might just head to the Indi Go Artist Co-op at 9 p.m. Friday for his Valentine's Day party. And at 2 p.m. Saturday at Indi Go one of my favorite dancers, Cynthia Oliver, will read from her dance-theater pieces, to live music. The events are part of a four-day art show and performances to benefit WEFT 90.1 radio station.

Square dance

I'm not much of a dancer, but I feel like dancing. Maybe it's the long, brutal winter. If you feel the same way head to the Channing-Murray Foundation in Urbana, for a stage show and square dance with the North Carolina-based Freight Hoppers String Band from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students. No experience is necessary — all dances will be taught!
