Ninth annual a capella concert set

TOLONO — The ninth annual All Out A Cappella Concert on Saturday at Unity High School will feature several university singing groups, including one that performs South Asian a cappella music.

There will be two shows: one at 5 p.m. and the other at 8. The performers at the earlier show will include the University of Illinois Xtension Chords, No Comment, RipChords and No Strings Attached; Illinois State University ClefHangers; and Unity's Surreal Sound.

The lineup for the 8 p.m. show: Xtension Chords, No Comment, RipChords, the Clef Hangers, Surreal Sound and the UI's Chai-Town, which will perform South Asian a cappella music.

The Unity Music Boosters host the events. Proceeds go toward enhancing music programs in Unit 7 schools.

General admission tickets to the family-friendly show is $14 for adults and $7 for students. The doors will open a half hour before each show.

Tickets are available from Unity High choral students, at the high school and junior high offices and at unitymusicboosters.org.

CDs will be sold by the groups after each concert.
