CHAMPAIGN — The exhibition "The Art of Science 4.0" will be on view from Thursday through April 7 at the Indi Go Artist's Co-op, 9 E. University Ave., C.
The opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday; viewing hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
In its fourth year, "The Art of Science: Images from the Institute for Genomic Biology" displays images from University of Illinois research addressing significant problems facing humanity.
The institute does research on chronic human diseases, new and emerging pests and pathogens, and food and water supplies. Working collaboratively, researchers at the institute take a team-based approach to research, history and its successes.
Doug Nelson, owner of BodyWork Associates in Champaign, came up with the idea for the "Art of Science" exhibitions. Nelson, who believes science is art, wanted to help bridge the community with the university through an art exhibit.
Images from the previous "Art of Science" exhibitions are on display at Willard Airport in Savoy and O'Hare and Midway international airports.
