Fairy Tale Ball set at Urbana Free Library

URBANA — The Urbana Free Library will have a special after-hours event for families from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday: the 2014 Fairy Tale Ball.

Princes and princesses of all ages don shiny suits of armor or sparkly ballgowns, or dress like their favorite fairy-tale characters for the event. The activities at the ball include dance, craft-making, live music and medieval games.

The entertainers:

— Ginger Lozar's Puppets, 6:15 and 8 p.m.

— The Royal Alchemist, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

— Storyteller Dan Keding, 7 p.m.

— English Country Dancers & The Flatland Consort Band, 7 to 8:45 p.m.

— Bow-Dacious String Band,6:15 to 7:15 p.m.

— Audacious String Band, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

— Game of Swords. 6:30 and 8:15 p.m.

Other performers: Joe Reichlen, a juggler, storyteller and singer; the Royal Roving Performers; Michael Braswell, a magician, juggler and singer; Madame Zitron, a fortune teller; and Visiting Princesses from Faraway Lands
