Violin/viola, piano and geniuses

Two classical music geniuses — Pinchas Zukerman on violin and viola and Yefin Bronfman on piano — perform pieces by Schubert, Beethoven and Brahms at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Krannert Center. I fondly recall hearing "Pinky" conduct an orchestra a few years ago at Krannert. At one point he pulled out his violin and played it with casual aplomb.

Flowers become art

Every April I take my mother to Krannert Art Museum to see the annual "Petals and Paintings" exhibition guest-curated by Rick Orr, a freelance florist who had a shop in downtown Champaign and who now works from his home. He taps award-winning florists to create amazing floral arrangements in response to works of art. Smells great too. The public viewing hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

'Bohemia' in Tuscola

Every first Saturday of the month the Vault Arts Collective and Yellow Dog Studio host a big party, with a different theme. Its fifth annual "Bohemia" will be 6 to 10 p.m. this Saturday at the Collective, 100 N. Main St., Tuscola. Ashley Riley will perform live music and there will be refreshments and lots of art to peruse. Free!
