String Cheese Incident added to music festival
DANVILLE — The String Cheese Incident band will headline two nights of the first Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival in September at Kennekuk County Park north of Danville.
As previously announced, Widespread Panic will headline the other two evenings. The festival will be Sept. 11-14, with String Cheese headlining the first night and then curating for the next night the debut of Lunar Landing Conspiracy, billed as a multi-sensory collaboration of all-star musicians.
The String Cheese Incident formed in 1993 in Colorado; it plays a mix of bluegrass, rock, electronica, calypso, country, funk, jazz, Latin, progressive rock, reggae, and occasional psychedelia.
Other bands already announced include: Bob Weir & Ratdog, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Government Mule, Leon Russell, Galactic, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Jackie Greene, Railroad Earth, Vintage Trouble, Donavon Frankenreiter, Sam Bush Band, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers, Martin Sexton, Anders Osborne, Leftover Salmon with Bill Payne of Little Feat, Kung Fu, The California Honeydrops, Toubab Krewe, Mingo Fishtrap and Futurebirds. The festival artist-in-residence will be David Gans.
