6/17-22 — Piatt County Fair. 523 S. Jefferson St., Cerro Gordo. Fair Pageant at 7 p.m. June 17; Autumn Zero performs at 8:30 p.m. June 20; White Whiskey Coalition (4 p.m.) and Riverbottom Nightmare (8:30 p.m.) take the stage June 21; ITPA Tractor Pull begins at 6:30 p.m. June 21; antique tractor pull concludes the entertainment on June 22. 6/22-28 — Ford County Fair. Fairgrounds Melvin. Country music sensation Parmalee will perform at 7 p.m. June 24, rodeo returns on June 27. New this year is a radio-controlled car event. The demo derby will offer a new class. 388-2815,

7/7-13 — Moultrie-Douglas County Fair. Jurgens Park behind the high school, Arthur. A full week of activities, including livestock shows, tractor pulls, demolition derby, horse and pony show, agriculture and fine arts exhibits, live entertainment, a midway carnival, beer tent and entertainment. 725-3565,

7/8-12 — 73rd annual Fisher Community Fair and Horse Show. Fisher Fairgrounds, 226 E. Sangamon St. Events include a horse show, livestock exhibits, lawn mower demolition derby, 5K run/walk, demolition derby, amusements and live music. 897-1437,

7/14-17 — Shelby County 4-H and Junior Fair. Fairgrounds, Illinois 128, Shelbyville. One of only a few fairs that still highlight 4-H and juniors. The fair includes dog care and obedience, judging in livestock, poultry, rabbits, lambs, produce, flowers, plants and many other subjects. The Food Shack serves plenty of food each day of the fair and is manned by various 4-H clubs in Shelby County. July 18: Preview Night and Grandstand Party; entertainment is Blackjack Billy with Ryan Ideus and the Feudin' Hillbillys opening. July 19: car and truck show and motorcycle rodeo, carnival opens. "Illinois' oldest continuous county fair" features livestock shows, queen pageant, harness racing, truck and tractor pull, carnival, music, horse show, demolition derby, arts and crafts, and more.

8/7-17 — Illinois State Fair. Illinois State Fairgrounds, Sangamon Avenue and Peoria Road, Springfield. Grandstand entertainment will feature country music sensation American Idol Live, Steely Dan, Hunter Hayes with Sam Hunt, Florida Georgia Line, Boston with April Wine and Sweet, and Jake Owen with Parmalee & The Cadillac III, Rapper Pitbull, and the Chicago cast of the Million Dollar Quartet, along with auto racing, harness racing and other events. 8/13-17 — 138th annual Fairbury Fair. Free gate until 1 p.m. Aug. 13, 14, 15, until 11 a.m. Aug. 16, 17. Carnival rides, games, bags tournament, demo derby, stock car racing, 5k run and music in the beer tent nightly.

8/22-9/1 — DuQuoin State Fair. Off Highway 51 south of DuQuoin.
