There's Hitch in 2014-15 N-G Film Series

CHAMPAIGN — Dial M for movies this year when five of Alfred Hitchcock's classics dominate the 2014-2015 News-Gazette Film Series at the Virginia Theater. Hitchcock's movies are right in time for Halloween, running Oct. 27-31.

Even scarier, Don Knotts confronts a haunted pipe organ in 1966's "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken."

And speaking of organs, David Schroeder performs on the Virginia's historic Wurlitzer Pipe Organ at many of the shows.

Movies are general admission. Most are shown at 1 and 7 p.m.

The five Hitchcock movies are shown at 7 and 10 p.m. Admission is $5.

At all the 7 p.m. shows, News-Gazette film critic Chuck Koplinski introduces the films and hosts a discussion in the mezzanine lobby afterward.

Tickets are $6, except for the Hitchcock five. Call 356-9063 or visit to buy them.
