Tennis team will host — again

On Tuesday, Brad Dancer’s guys received word — as if there was any question — that they’d been invited to the 64-team event. That makes 19 years in a row. Every year since 1996.

Baseball game postponed

CHAMPAIGN — The Illinois baseball team’s home game against Southern Illinois on Tuesday night was postponed at midday due to the potential of inclement weather.

The nonconference contest was rescheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Illinois Field.

Tuesday's forecast called for scattered thunderstorms starting at about 5 p.m.

That will be the case again this weekend, with 2013 Big Ten Freshman of the Year Kevin Duchene continuing to rehab a strained pitching forearm that has sidelined the left-hander since mid-March.
