Ex-employee ordered to repay $37,000 stolen from Champaign Cycle

URBANA — A Rantoul woman who admitted stealing money from a former employer has been ordered to repay the business more than $35,000.

Ashley Broadnax, 30, who last lived in the 1400 block of Eater Drive, pleaded guilty Tuesday to theft by deception.

Police seeking men who beat, robbed man in north Champaign home

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police are looking for the men who beat and robbed a man in his north Champaign home last week.

A police report said a 25-year-old resident of Tulip Tree Drive was forced inside his home at gunpoint about 10:50 p.m. June 12 by four unknown men who then beat him with fists and guns, robbed him and fled.

URBANA — A Champaign man allegedly found to have two loaded guns in his home Friday is expected back in court in two weeks after being charged with a serious felony.

Devon Craig, 42, who listed an address in the 3300 block of Brentwood Drive, was charged Monday with being an armed habitual criminal, unlawful use of a machine gun and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
