Coroner: Man found in pool of blood in Campustown died of natural causes

URBANA — An Urbana man found in a pool of blood in Campustown early Thursday apparently died of natural causes.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said an autopsy done Friday on Robert W. Chambers, 28, of Urbana showed that he did not die as a result of a cut to his leg.

Two Urbana men charged after search of apartment turns up gun, pot

URBANA — Two Urbana men found to have a gun and cannabis in their home Wednesday have been criminally charged.

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said Robert Chambers, 28, was pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital’s emergency room. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

URBANA — An Urbana man accused of sexually assaulting a woman as she slept remains in the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.

Octavius Jackson, 39, who listed an address in the 1200 block of South Vine Street, was arrested Sunday by Urbana police and charged Monday with criminal sexual assault.
