Danville man arrested in shooting at November party that left 1 dead

DANVILLE — A Danville man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a November party in which two bystanders were severely wounded, one fatally.

Danville police arrested Gary A. Cunningham, 21, around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charging him with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon in the Nov. 18 shooting at a house in the 1400 block of East English Street.

Danville police investigating armed robbery at Dollar General

DANVILLE — Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a Dollar General store Tuesday while armed with a knife.

At 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the store at 1405 N. Bowman Ave., where employees said a man with a knife took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and ran away to the west.

Danville library to close Jan. 29-31 to move books after renovations

DANVILLE — The Danville Public Library will close for three days next week to move book collections following completion of renovations inside the building.

The library, 319 N. Vermilion St., will be closed Jan. 29-31 and will reopen at 9 a.m. Feb. 1.
