Sleigh Bells cancel Pygmalion appearance; Hum to take their place

Sleigh Bells, who were set to open the eighth annual Pygmalion Music Festival in Champaign and Urbana next week, have canceled their appearance due to a member having recently injured his hand.

Refunds for all single-show tickets that were purchased will be made available starting today (Sept. 17.) The local ‘90s indie rock band Hum will perform in their place.

“We’re extremely disappointed that Sleigh Bells are unable to perform at this year’s Pygmalion. Naturally, we were very excited to have them open up the festival, but wish nothing but the best to the band due this this minor setback,” said festival founder and producer Seth Fein. “We’ll be working to reschedule their appearance in Champaign-Urbana as soon as possible.”

Tickets for the show that will feature the same opening lineup of Psychic Twin, Dirty Feathers, and That’s No Moon, are on sale via ETix and local ticket outlets Manolo’s Pizza, Exile on Main St., and The Canopy Club box office.
