CHAMPAIGN - Brian Carlwell suffered an injury to his right knee midway through practice Friday at the Assembly Hall.
The injury is being called a sprained knee pending further evaluation. Coach Bruce Weber said the 6-foot-11 sophomore probably will miss four to six weeks, though that timeframe is considered tentative.
"He's going to get it looked at over the next couple days," Weber said after practice.
The injury occurred under one of the baskets during a drill, and Carlwell left the court in considerable pain. Weber said the center doesn't have a history of knee injuries, outside a hyperextended knee as a football player at Proviso East.
Carlwell has appeared in three of six games this season.
