As visitors go, Illinois basketball is about to host a big one.

Alex Legion, a highly regarded freshman who is leaving Kentucky, said on Friday night he will visit Illinois from Sunday through Tuesday. The 6-5 guard added he "most likely" will visit Notre Dame later in the week.
"I really like Illinois right now," Legion said.
A midseason transfer would be eligible to play for a new school after grades are posted for the fall semester of next year. Legion was recruited by the UI staff as a player at Detroit Country Day, though his main tie to the program is through newly hired assistant Jerrance Howard.
"I know Jerrance real well from Kentucky," he said.
Legion said he's back in Detroit with family. As far as a timeframe for a decision, he said it will probably come "around Christmas or right after that." He said he doesn't anticipate announcing a decision for Illinois during his time on campus.
"I want to look at all my options," he said.
