A number of former Illini have played at Portsmouth in the past, including Warren Carter last year. Pruitt is teammates with Ohio State's Jamar Butler and Xavier's Josh Duncan, who, judging by the rosters, has shrunk dramatically since the NCAA tournament.

Bruce Weber said today it's important that a player's Portsmouth team has success because it means more games and more exposure to the pro scouts in attendance. Apparently, you're only guaranteed two games unless you keep winning.
