Oklahoma State officials had discussions with SIU coach Chris Lowery at his home in Carbondale today.

But at least for the time being, the Salukis will not have a coaching search of their own. Lowery said tonight he is no longer among the candidates for the coaching vacancy at Oklahoma State.
"I'm very happy at Southern Illinois," Lowery said. "I have a long-term deal and a terrific recruiting class coming in."
SIU's 2008 recruiting class is arguably the most highly regarded class to enter the program. Lowery, who has been approached in regards to several higher-profile coaching vacancies in the last few weeks, declined to discuss details of the Oklahoma State talks.
