Rock Island's Chasson Randle, Chicago De La Salle's Mike Shaw and St. Louis (Mo.) Chaminade's Bradley Beal are among the invitees for the USA Basketball's Men's Developmental National team trials. Looks like there are 21 players that will compete for 12 spots on a traveling roster headed to the FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Argentina from June 17-20.
The trials for the U16 squad are scheduled for June 6-12 in Colorado Springs. Rock Island coach Thom Sigel said today that Randle's scheduling conflict is one reason they won't be in attendance at the Illinois team camp Sunday. (Rock Island's graduation this weekend is another reason.) Not sure if that's the same reason Shaw and Beal's squads aren't on the schedule for the Illinois team camp we published on HQ today, though it would make sense if that's the case.
