The Orange and Blue Scrimmage tips off at 4 p.m. today over at the Assembly Hall. You can read about it here or here. Tickets go for $10 and are general admission.
Just fyi, fourth-year junior Richard Semrau had to miss Friday and Saturday's practice sessions due to a death in the family. Bruce Weber said yesterday he expects Semrau will participate in the scrimmage today. Weber also said the coaches will try to work in Joseph Bertrand (knee) and Jeff Jordan (rejoined the team last week) but they might have limited minutes. Other than that, the Illini will play four 8-minute quarters and players will rotate between the teams. There also will be an autograph session after the scrimmage.
About 165 coaches showed up for the annual Illinois coaches clinic at Ubben on Saturday. Guest speaker Eric Musselman, in particular, drew high marks for his presentation. The Illini also held a 2-hour practice at the end of the clinic, with the high school coaches in attendance.
There won't be a Live Report from the scrimmage, but I'll have a handful of updates via Twitter. You can follow us here.
