Caravan Trail Ends in St. Louis
The 2012 Illini Caravan crosses the finish line tonight with a stop in the "Gateway to the West".
It has been really enjoyable meeting Illini fans all over the state...from Rockford to St.Louis...from Peoria to Danville ...and several places in between. Illini coaches have spoken at hospitals and schools... as well as receptions attended by hundreds of fans. All of the coaches have done a great job presenting their respective programs to Illini Nation. The new coaches (Groce, Bollant and Beckman) have energized fans with their intensity and passion.
Soon it will officially be summer......the current athletic year will be over..... and the campus will be full of young people attending summer camps and dreaming about someday being Illini student-athletes themselves.
But in a couple of months...the current student-athletes will be arriving back on campus.... and we will embark on the 2012-13 sports season together.
Camp Rantoul will be here before you know it.
