Illini Polish Off USC
The Illini Basketball team moved to 4-0 with a convincing win over the USC Trojans late Monday night. I kept thinking during the first half as the Illini were blistering the nets at a nearly 70 percent clip...that this had to be the most impressive half of Illini basketball we have seen in a while. And it was....the most points scored in a half since the Gonzaga game in the magical 2004-05 season.
The Ilini took it to the bigger USC team.....scoring at will in the paint with aggressive moves to the basket. It was a fun night to be an Illini fan.
Tonight a surprise opponent in Chaminade...who handled Texas surprisingly easy. The Division II Silverswords are athletic and quick...and like to shoot threes. But they are not very big. Hopefully....with a potential appearance in the championship game looming..the Illini can play with same focus they did last night.
