Yeah, I know it's still basketball season -- and I think it'll be Illini basketball season for another 30 days or so -- but here's one sign that summer is not that far away: the 2005 Danville Dans schedule.
If you love baseball (played on a real grass field with wood bats) and cold beer and hot dogs and peanuts, plus a real old-time stadium with wooden bleachers, you'll love the Dans. They're members of the Central Illinois Collegiate League, probably the equivalent of Class AA minor league baseball -- and a lot less expensive.
Danville Stadium, just off of Interstate 74, is less than a half-hour ride from C-U. It's a great place to watch a great game on a summer evening.
